What Causes A Persistent Hard Bump On The Left Temple?

I ve had a hard, painless bump on the left temple of my head for a least 10 years. Considering how long I ve had it, with no symptoms, I figured it s nothing to worry about. However, I have read about certain brain tumors that can take decades to grow and am wondering if this might be something I should worry about?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Brain tumors do not usually present externally so it is not likely that this visible lesion is related to this. If there has been no change to this lesion for over 10 years and there are no symptoms then it is not likely that it is dangerous. Though it is not brain cancer, you can check it out if you remain concerned.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
