Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi i have a raised bump on my right jawline that's been there for almost 2 years now. It's the same color as my skin and you can only see it if i turn a certain way. It use to be a long thin raised bump but over time it became one little pea size lump. What might this be Doc?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
As per your complain if the bump is under the jawline then it can be due to swollen submandibular salivary gland due to clogged duct of the gland due to formation of crystalline stones from minerals present in saliva.. It can also be swollen lymph nodes but if it has regressed in size then doesn't seems to be any malignancy..
In case if it is on the jawline it can also be a deep fibroma or a lipoma or can also be a sebaceous cyst..
Nothing to worry as all the conditions are harmless and can be treated very well..
You need to consult an oral physician and get evaluated and the treatment can be decided depending upon the cause..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
