What Causes A Persistent Rash On The Body While Having Graves Disease?
I HAVE A RASH. WENT TO URGENT CARE THEY DIDN T KNOW WHAT IT WAS. THEY DID A THOAT CULTURE CAME NEG. I ALSO HAVE GRAVES AND IT HAS BEEN IN REMISSION FOR YEARS. I THINK I HAVE SHIGLES. AT NIGHT I HAVE A LOW TEMP 97.8. RASH NOT GETTING BETTER AT NIGHT IT REALLY BOTHERS ME. ANY ADVISE ?
Until examination, it is difficult to say what it is. The possibility that you may be having thyroid dermopathy; characterized by red, swollen skin, usually on the shins and tops of the feet.
The texture of the affected skin may be similar to that of an orange peel. Other possibilities like herpes zoster it may be developed certain dermatomal region repeatedly.
Systemic lupus erythematosus or clotting disorders or thrombocytopenia may present like this. Apply moisturizer cream, use antihistamine in case of itching.
