Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a condition where i get 2 folicular pimple on my grojn area and when i apply neoporin for 5 to 7 days they go away and pus comes out. But as soon as they go away 2 more such kind of pimples pop up. And it has been over a month now.thank you for your help
i totally understand your concerns about the reccurence of these pimples. This is a case of folliculitis based on the two things you mentionned in the history : the response to neoporin on one hand, and the pus coming out of these pimples. However what is bothering is the reccurence, and to stop that we should take into consideration the risk factors that might lead to folliculitis and stop them if they are present in your case : which is called prevention. The following are the major risk factors: •Heavy sweating; make sure the groin area is always dry. in case of obesity you must lose some weight to help in that if applicable •Tight clothing; do not wear tight clothing •Ingrown hairs from plucking, shaving, waxing or electrolysis; always cut your groin hair away from the skin instead of complete razing. • Diabetes : you should be tested for diabetes once to rule out this possibility.
