What Causes A Pimple In The Pubic Area?

So I found a whitish yellowish pimple in my pubic hair and I popped it to have whiteyellow pus come from it as well as a lititle blood. It did scab up a little with a dark brown red scab and I m scared. Is it possible it could be something other then herpes

Hi,

By far the most common cause of a pimple not directly on the genitals is....a pimple. Even on the genitals, it's more likely to be a pimple, but in an area that is not at all common for herpes or genital warts and doesn't sound like those, a pimple is most likely.

Pimples are caused by germs that are always present on the skin. about 10% of people have the potential for them and 90% have skin germs that don't cause them. A break in the skin from any cause allows germs to get in. Often, the area heals up. Sometimes the infection spreads outward and needs antibiotics or even professional popping. Without an exam, I can only give general information and dermatologic conditions are hard to discuss without seeing them.
