What Causes A Popping Sound And Pain In The Knee Upon Bending?

I fell on my knee on ceramic tile two years ago. I applied ice and it turned black and blue, but it healed. however, every time I squat, there is a popping sound, but no pain. Yesterday, I sat on the floor. When getting up from the floor, there was a loud pop in that knee and pain. No swelling, just pain when I bend it in any way. Do you think it will get better with ice?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Popping sound from knee is suggestive of ligamental injury.
So better to consult orthopedic doctor and get done clinical examination and MRI of knee joint to rule out internal injury.
If MRI is normal then no need to worry much.
Ice application will be fine.
But if MRI is suggestive of ligamental injury then you will need arthroscopic surgery.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
