Hello,
My answer is that you could still be pregnant even after you claim to have terminated the
pregnancy medically, but this probability is low.
Because you have not told me how long did the pregnancy last before using drugs to end it, then I cannot tell you what the chances that you could still be pregnant are. The general rule is that the later abortion drugs are used the higher the chance of their failure. For example, if abortion drugs are used within first 1-49 days of conception, the chance of continuing pregnancy after their use is about 0.1%, but if you used them when you are about 3 months pregnant then the chance of failure is about 50 times higher (5%).
Therefore, it is highly possible that you are not pregnant anymore because home pregnancy test could read positive even though the pregnancy has ended due to pregnancy hormones continuing to circulate in your body for several weeks after
medical abortion. Even though this period is considered about 3 weeks, your case could be an exception and the test reads false positive (meaning that it says you are pregnant when in fact you are not, due to such hormones).
In this context, the best way to determine if you are still pregnant or not is to undergo an
ultrasound examination. You should do it as soon as possible in order to avoid unnecessary
stress.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
