Hi Doctor, I got a couple of questions. I have been seeing little red pin point dots on my skin now for about 6 years now they come and go. Had them looked at and was told nothing was wrong. Had blood work done about two years ago now. Should I have this looked at again? The other question is, about 2 weeks ago I got hit in the low shin a little bruise formed and swelled. Hurt for about 2 mins and then all of a sudden the pain started to go up the inside of my calf and stopped and form a 2in. by 1 1/2 in. bruise and it has not gone away yet. The bruise does not hurt, it is still deep purple. Should I have it looked?
It could be a contusion which is nothing but a collection of blood underneath the skin. Nothing much to worry and it will resolve by itself. You can apply icepacks for faster recovery.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
