What Causes A Purple Color Skin Rash While Using A Blood Thinner?
my husband is on blood thinners, due to cannula(?) in heart artery last Nov. he bleeds easily, and gets purplish-red patches on the skin. Tonight we discovered about a 2 diameter soft, spongy lump on his elbow, it is not discolored Could this be a clot or bleed deep under the skin?

while on blood thinners there can be subcutaneous bleed which can give purple discoloration to skin. the lump on elbow if normal in color is less likely to be a subcutaneous bleed.
