I ve had chronic sinusitis for roughly ten years post 3 sinus surgery s(28yo currently) 3 days ago I went into the doctor with another infection(common this time of year for me) It was one the worst that Ive had. He put me on a strong regiment of antibiotics as usual, as well as a steriod and antihistamine treatment. Over the last 2 days I have had a small puss sack, towards the back of my throat just before my tonsil and off to the side of it, begin to develop. I would approximate its size at about 3 to 4 mm currently. I have never had this before? Whats going on?

Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist, Dr. Omair's Response
Hello,
It seems that you are having recurrent acute tonsillitis and this may be the cause of recurrent sinusitis or vice versa. There are small follicles in the tonsils which gets infected and sometimes these small follicles join together to form a larger puss filled channel in fragile tonsils due to repeated infections.
There is nothing to worry about and the medical treatment remains the same but after this, your ENT doctor should consider you for tonsillectomy which in your case can be very helpful. You can continue with your medication and just add warm saline gargles twice a day to relive the swelling and congestion in the throat and oral cavity.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
