Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve noticed for a few months now a spot on the rim of my penis that when stretched out and held in the light and certain way appears shiny and white. I don t really notice it unless I spread the skin out some and look at it in good lighting. Is this just normal skin or an std like genital warts. I ve had this for months maybe even over a year and no change. The spot feels tougher than the skin next to it and might be slightly raised but can t really tell by looking at it
Hi I had gone through your question and i understand your concern . See , they might be "Pearly Penile Papules". They are mostly white coloured and of 1-3mm size. The good news is that penile papules are absolutely nothing to worry about as they pose no health risks and will not cause any pain or irritation. In fact, they are very common, with an estimated 20% of the male population developing them. There is no known cause of PPP. But one thing you should remember is that you should not pick them or try to squeeze them. If they are persistent , and if you want to remove them for cosmetological purpose , then only consult your dermatologist. I hope this information was of help. Wish you good health.
