What Causes A Rash Across The Cheek From Temple To The Eye Area?

My 2 1/2 year old daughter has a rash across her cheek from her temple to the eye area. I m guessing it s the start of a virus and we ll see a fever soon? Her day care provider siad it looked like a welt (sp?) at first, though we knew she wasn t hit or hurt that we were aware of and she talks like a 4 year old, so she tells us when she gets hurt, but now it s rash like and she has no rash elsewhere. I put hydocortisone cream on and it didn t help or burn like excema may do. ????

Hi, this seems to be a insect bite which sometimes leave a trail like rash around the bite region. I think that you need to give hydroxizine syrup 5 ml PO three times a day for 3 days to prevent itching and apply mupirocin cream at the rash site. Take care.
