What Causes A Red And Swollen Lump On The Lower Back After An Injury?

Hi, yesterday I fell down some stairs landing on my lower back And bottom. My lower back has a large red swollen lump in the middle and my bottom purple . It is very painful. I am more worried that my left side of abdomen is very sore and my upper back and neck. Is this normal or should I go see my doctor?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think that is injured back due to fall you experienced.

I advise to apply cold compresses locally for 2 days, then continue with alternating warm and cold compresses.

The pain in abdomen and neck is due to fall.

However, to ensure everything is ok should run x-ray of the back plus abdominal ultrasound.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
