What Causes A Red Line And Bite Mark On The Arm?

Have a bite mark question. My wife noticed a bite mark yesterday but just thought it was a mosquito. Today it has turned into a perfect circle (not a bullseye) with a small slightly rough point in the middle. Circle is larger than a quarter and more pink in color than red. Slightly itchy. And now she has noticed a red line that has appeared about 4 inches long extending up the arm toward her elbow. No pain or anything and not sure if that line is from her scratching it or not. Any ideas?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

It may be liken urticatus also called papular urticaria. Kindly consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment.

I would suggest...

- antihistaminics like desloratidine
- steroids in tappering dose
- combined cream of steroid and antibiotic
- avoid soap
- take care to avoid insect bites

I hope this would help you..

Thanks.
