What Causes A Red Lump On The Arm When Diagnosed With Staph Infection?

My husband had a large red knot on his arm that was painful. He saw a doctor yesterday and was diagnosed with a staph infection and prescribed antibiotics. The spot has swelled more and is oozing. Should he be concerned or return to the doctor or is this a normal part of the healing process?

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if it is the abscess formation then it is better to drained the puss and if it is just the induration then no need to give any antibiotic else it will turn into antibioma, it is better to discuss this with doctor, as long as the healing is concern once the infection autolyzed healing will start hope this information helps.
