What Causes A Red Rash Under Lower Lip With No History Of Trauma?
Hi, I am a 64 y.o. male. In the last week or so I have noticed a red area under my bottom lip on the outside. It feels a little warmish and I have a little raised area that sometimes is a little tingly. Just curious as to what this can be. It is not a bite and does not appear to have a head on it. No reason why it would be Herpes.Just a concern.
As per your complain slightly raised area under the lower lip that is red and warm can be due to either any allergic reaction while can also be due to hair follicle infection.. I would suggest you to consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and after a proper clinical evaluation only you will be advised appropriate treatment.. As of now you can apply a combination of antibiotic and Steroid ointment over the red area.. Do cool compresses.. If there is pain take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen.. Avoid scratching or rubbing the area as it can increase inflammation and cause pain..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
