I had an episiotomy and the stitches have all come out. It has healed apart from a small wound on the perinium. I have a bright red skin tag that seems to be coming out of that wound. It stings when I pee, itches and bleeds. It has been a month and it is still bleeding. How can I get rid of it?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your concern. The unhealed skin tag in your otherwise healed epiziotomy wound- seems to be following infection in the stitch underneath./ itching/ stretching of the sutures results in -delayed healing - You need to consult your gynecologist , get the local examination done.Doctor will give you a course of antibiotics/ metronidazole,/anti inflammatory drugs/ Vitamin B & c supplements. orally as per the findings. - Local dressings along with application of antibiotic ointment is essential. Use of Homiopathic ointment of callendulla is useful for fast healing. -Delayed healing takes about 10-20 days for full healing.. - Rarely,if there is no improvement in condition, re suturing after scraping the wound / edges of the wound followed by oral medicines/ local hygiene& avoiding stretch to the wound is needful. Thanks.
