What Causes A Red Tender Spot On The Swollen Lower Leg?

My left lower leg is greatly swollen with a red, tender area about 3 in diameter. It has been there for several days, but was only a red spot until a couple of days ago when it swelled up more and got very tender to the touch. My right lower leg is swollen too, but not as much as the right and no visible sores. Is this a symptom for diabetes?

swelling and redness could also be signs of localized abscess especially if you state that it started with a red spot. if you have diabetes it may worsen the problem as healing is slow. high recommend to look out for symptoms such as worsening pain, nausea, vomiting, fevers and or chills. also recommend visit to ED before the problems worsens.
