What Causes A Reddened Hard Lump Despite Taking Antibiotics For Cellulitis?
I was diagnosed with cellulitis on Wednesday. I am still in a lot of pain still and it s still skittle red after over 36 hours on antibiotics. There is also still a spot under the redness that feels like a hard lump and has not gone down at all. Should I be worried?
You can draw a line with a pen till wherever the redness has spread, and then see if it is regressing. It usually takes time to regress however if the symptoms progress, then you have to go to your local doctor for further treatment.
You can apply ice packs on it, and also take a combination of drugs such as tablet Ibuprofen and Paracetamol up to 3 times a day in order to combat your pain.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Purnima Sharma
