What Causes A Rough Patch On The Cornea Of An Eye?
I have a rough patch on my cornea that developed over the past two months or so. It is like clear lumps on the white part under the iris. I am gradually beginning to have discomfort when wearing a contact lens on this eye. Could this be an infection or maybe irritation from the contact? I'm worried that treatment may involve switching to glasses, which will be difficult for me. I am a 54- y.o. female, 5'10" and 145#. I have worn soft contacts for 35 years, even sleeping in them every night, and never had an eye issue until the optometrist said I needed to switch brands to a type that would "breathe" better ...to the ones that are now hurting my eyes. Please help.
It may be due to constant use of contact lens. Remove it at bed time. Now discontinue contact lens for ten days and apply refresh tear eye drop 3times daily After you feel better use contact lens.
