What Causes A Round Raised Bump With A Red Center In Vagina?
Hi, I have been diagnosed with a vaginal prolapse. (I m at the edge of the vagina but not protruding. While looking with a mirror I noticed a round raised bump with a red tip. I asked my Dr about it and she said it was the beginning of an ulcer. She didn t recommend I do anything about it. That was over a month ago and the bump is still there. My husband won t have sex with me as he is worried he may pop it or cause damage. Should I be concerned about this ulcer? what can I do to get rid of it? Is it safe to have sex with it there? Should I go back to my Dr? Thanks
As per my clinical experience, the raised bump with red center in the vagina indicate possible cervical polyp protruding into the vagina most likely. One may have penetrative intercourse with this type of lesion for sure without any problems. The ulcer is less likely with this presentation. In my clinic, after thorough clinical examination, I do recommend a transvaginal ultrasound of the lesion with or without excision biopsy of the lump for best evaluation and guidelines.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
