What Causes A Severe Stabbing Pain In The Face After Recovering From Stroke?
My husband had a stroke last October but has recovered quite pretty well but is on lots of meds including Insulin. However he gets severe stabbing face pain that causes him to literally grab his face and wince. The neurologist feels it could be just nerve endings healing and told him to take Ibuprofen twice a day. The eye specialist feels that is too much as it could damage his kidneys. He woke the other day with a swollen face but by the time he saw the his family Dr most of that was gone. He recommended he see a nose throat ear specialist which he did yesterday and he said he believes he had an infection of the spit gland, though the infection is gone. Claimed he wasn t drinking enough water. So he is drinking more water but tonight he again had severe stabbing pain, that goes as fast as it comes. Any suggestions?
