What Causes A Sharp Pain In The Right Knee?

I started having sharp pain in my right knee if I kneel on it. It started almost like a nerve pain- sharp. Progressively, I cannot kneel at all on that knee. It is very painful- but if I just palpate it- it is not too bad. No swelling, redness or heat. The pain is just below my knee cap. Any ideas?

Hello,

Pain on kneeling can happen if you have an inflamed kneecap bursa which is a sac with fluids over the knee cap or it can also be due to damaged structures within the knee like meniscus damages.
A good examination by your doctor can identify the real cause of the pain and this will lead to better diagnosis and treatment plan.
Meanwhile using ibuprofen and paracetamol and local compresses might help with the pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
