What Causes A Skin Tag In The Sinus Cavity Post Wisdom Teeth Removal?

I had 3 wisdom teeth removed yesterday. The top left bled much more than the others, but I kept the gauze in and the bleeding stopped.. The root of that one also left a.hole in my sinus cavity which caused a lot of swelling yesterday and some pressure today. I know there are stitches, but there is also.a.flap of skin hanging. It wouldn t bother me, but I bite it if I close my teeth. Should I be worried?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of hanging flap of skin in sinus cavity post wisdom teeth removal which is very common after wisdom tooth extraction which is due to trauma during the extraction to the soft tissue. Need not to worry.

I would suggest you to :-

- Apply topical gels Rexidin M gel over skin tags 2-3 times daily for 5 days.

- Take diet rich in multivitamins.

- Give warm compresses to swollen area 2-3 times a day .

- Take advil (if not allergic) or tylenol for pain and swelling.

- Do betadine rinses twice a day .

Consult dentist or oral surgeon again for proper diagnosis. In case of infection doctor may prescribe antibiotics course.
