What Causes A Small Black Bump Inside The Lower Lip?
I have a small bump on inside of lower lip looks like a small mole, black in color just under the skin. I noticed it about a week ago . Looks like another one may be appearing an inch away. I know I have bitten my lips before when eating, I have a partial denture. It doesn t happen that often. ?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain a mole like looking small bump on the inner side of lower lip that is appearing under the mucosa of the inner lip along with history of having bitten the lip seems to be due to causes like hematoma formation due to ruptured blood vessel or can also be due to trauma to minor salivary gland leading to formation of mucous cyst or a mucocele.. Although it can also be a nevus but they are present over the surface and not under the surface.. The exact cause can however be ruled out by consulting a dentist and getting a clinical evaluation done.. In case if it is a mucocele doing concentrated salt water gargles can help in its resolution.. In case if it is a hematoma it will resolve gradually on its own.. In case of nevus surgical removal or electrocautary can be done..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
