What Causes A Small Black Spot On The Thumb Of A Lupus Patient?

Hello, I looked at my left hand today and there is a small circular dark black spot on the inside part of the base of my thumb that was not there two days ago. I tried scrapping it off thinking it was dirt, than I tried washing my hands thinking it might be an ink spot. I have lupus and am on quite a lot of medications so any change in my body is something I pay close attention to. Can spots just show up in that short of a time and is it something I need to be concerned about?
