Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes A Small Hard Lump On Skin Connecting Upper Lips And Gums?
I have a small lump on what I believe is called the frenulum ? The piece of skin which joins my upper lip to my upper gums. It is right at the base of the upper frenulum almost on the upper gum itself. It feels small but slightly hard. Should I worry about this ?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain a small hard bump over the frenulum does not seems to be anything serious and can be a beginning of a canker sore or can be a small mucocele..
Nothing to worry about it as these conditions are not fatal and self limiting and mostly resolve on itS own..
I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles.. In case if there is pain you can also apply numbing gel containing Lignocaine.. In case if it does not resolve in a week or does not show signs of improvement consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
