What Causes A Small Painful Lump Under Right Armpit?

Hi About 10 days before my period I get swollen breasts and it is painful. I also experience a very painful small lump ( lymph node I guess) under my right armpit. It goes away and stops hurting after my period starts. I get concerned it could be breast cancer. Is it normal to experience a soar lump under the armpit up to a period? I am 39.
