What Causes A Small, Painless Lump Behind The Ear?
Hi, I have a small lump behind my right ear. Feels like possibly a swollen gland but very hard and doesn t move or cause pain. I wasn t concerned about it until today when I noticed that I have a slightly larger lump on the right side of my occipital bone. It is about four fingers away from my ear. It is not painful to touch but the area around it is sore when touched. I also have noticed slightly cloudy vision at times. Unsure if that could be a related symptom. Any information is greatly appreciated.
It can be a lipoma or a sebaceous cyst. Usually they are hard and painless. They are benign growths but if cause discomfort or symptoms, can be removed under local anesthesia.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ajeet Singh, General & Family Physician
