What Causes A Small Protrusion On The Left Side Of The Navel?
I have a small protrusion on the left inside of belly button. I have been feeling some slight burning sensations and it hurts a little if I push on it. It also flares up depending on what I eat. Also have been very bloated off an on. I had a very big dinner 4 days ago and had a lot of foods I don t normally eat. Lots of meat ,fried rice , and a decent amount of drinks. This seemed to start these symptoms. Any thoughts?
Since you have a protrusion on the left side of the navel & presently you have pain & bloating, it looks like an umbilical hernia.
However, take antacids & PPI's to get rid of the bloating & discomfort. Ascitis (fluid in the abdomen, obesity, frequent pregnancies, etc).
You are suggested to visit ER, get a physical examination done to assess the pathology causing the discomfort. get treated at the earliest.
Stay away from trans fat, oily, junk food.
Ignoring may result in the worsening of the symptoms. Treatment is surgery.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
