What Causes A Small Square Shaped Red Rash On Shins?

I developed a small postage stamp sized square red rash on the front of each of my shins. They do not appear to have a bite-site in them but look more like a cluster of tiny water blisters. The one on my right shin was mildly itchy for a couple of days but not any more. Any ideas??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to herpes Zoster. I suggest using an antiviral cream for local application such as Acyclovir.

I also suggest using Benadryl to relieve the itching. If the symptoms continue, you may need oral antiviral such as Acyclovir 800 mg three times a day.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
