Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a red, angry-looking sore on my back which began as a small raised bump and over months, grew to a larger one about one-inch long. It was never painful but extremely itchy. In early December 2014, my general practitioner removed it surgically. The pathologist report confirmed it was basal cell carcinoma and recommended going in deeper as a very small root system of the carcinoma was still there. I was referred to a plastic surgeon to perform the surgery. I saw him yesterday. He wants to leave it be for 3 months and re-evaluate. My concern: It is still so very itchy, almost 3 months after surgery in December. Should I be worried about it? I had another bcc on my lower back in 1995 which was removed then successfully.
