General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Dark spots or freckles on the sclera are commonly harmless but if they are causing certain discomforts & appear all of a sudden than it is suggested to get it clinically examined by an Ophthalmologist to rule out congenital nevi, congenital melanoma & melanoma. The treatment will depend upon the pathology detected.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
