What Causes A Sudden Onset Of Severe Pain In The Left Hip?

My church pastor came down suddenly with severe pain in his left hip. It is progressively getting worst. He has seen his doctor recently who has referred hm to an orthopedic surgeon. I believe he is scheduled for an Xray and MRI. What do you think might be the cause of this sudden onset?

Hi and pleased to answer you
The most frequent pathologies that can give this kind of pain are:
Hip osteoarthritis: Hip osteoarthritis or osteoarthritis is the second most common osteoarthritis, after that of the knee. She is for a long time inapparent or responsible of very modest pains. And when it becomes debilitating, it is always linked to advanced state disease. This is important because if you have terrible pain in the hip area and radios show moderate osteoarthritis, it is probably not your hip that is responsible but rather your lumbar vertebrae. Attention, some very localized arthroses can be difficult to see on the usual radios. If your doctor really feels that the hip is responsible, he will prescribe more detailed exams.
Tendinitis of the gluteus medium: Tendinitis of the gluteus mediums is a pain from the outside of the hip, a little below the crease of the groin. The painful spot sits on a bony protuberance at this place (one must feel deep) which is the zone of attachment of the tendon. The gluteus mediums muscle is an important muscle of standing. This tendinitis is therefore a pain of support and walking. Rarely, in case of calcification on the tendon, there may be an acute crisis with permanent pains, which gradually diminish after a few days. This corresponds to the disintegration of calcification.
Irritated hip pain: Much of the hip pain does not come from this joint. These are so-called "projected" pains, that is, occurring at a distance from their true origin. What makes you suffer is the nerve endings of an area of more or less extensive skin, but this nerve is actually irritated at its departure from the spinal column or more rarely on its way in the middle of the body. The best-known example of pain is sciatica, the main cause of which is the lumbar disc herniation.

Other conditions may be the cause of hip pain requiring consultation with the rheumatologist for better management.
Pending for the specialist consultation a treatment based on felden 20 tablet once daily will help fight the pains.
Best wishes
