What Causes A Swelling Between The Shoulders Despite Taking Aleve?
I have swelling between my shoulders closer to the right shoulder. Feels like a cyst. I felt like something bit me 1 week ago in that spot. I have iced it and used icy hot and Aleve. It s been a week and still there. Now I have a little soreness. I ve been using a heating pad and no change
Dear Customer , This is Dr. S. Tomar from healthcaremagic.com's medical team and I ll be your medical advisor for this question. First of all thank you for sharing your concern with us and showing trust on us.
As the swelling is persisting for more than a week now and is not responding to general self care measures , so I would recommend you to consult it with your PCP further and get it visually inspected , as a possible bacterial infection might have get settled in subcutaneously after insect bite which needs further antibiotic treatment . Topical antibiotics like Bactroban should be applied and if needed oral antibiotics will be given by your PCP.
This is my initial response and discussion is open until you have any query or need further clarification. I wish you good health . Thank you for your question and feel free to contact further for any question . sincerely, Dr. Shardendu Tomar
