What Causes A Swollen Bump In The Lower Side Of The Jaw?
I have a spot on my lower left jaw that is swollen and very painful to the touch. It is on the lower side of the jaw, so it doesn t seem to be related to a tooth. Besides, I don t have any teeth back there. I do feel a little bump at the location, so my first thought was an inflamed salivary gland but I can t been able to find where the salivary glands are located. Even if it is an inflamed salivary gland, I didn t find what to do for it. Any advice?
Hi, From history it seems that there might be having tender enlarged sub mandibular lymph node producing swelling. This can be due to having some infection in your oral cavity like tooth, throat, gums etc. In infection of salivary gland you might get swelling on the jaw but diffuse and increases while chewing or eating. Consult your doctor and get examined. After proper findings plan of treatment can be made. Meanwhile do antiseptic gargles and keep oral hygiene clean. Ok and take care.
