What Causes A Swollen Lump Near The Rectum?

Thanks dr Prasad. 2 days ago while taking the evening shower I felt something around or in my rectum. I checked in the mirror ...it was pinkish. And solid. Today, I have impression that it is bigger. I feel discomfort in the lower abdomen, mostly on the left side.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
I appreciate your concern
Looking at your history this could be hemorrhoids or swollen anal gland
in my opinion you should consult a general surgeon for examination and investigation
you may require a course of antibiotics
I would like further information to help you better like
your age and sex
any history of constipation or altered bowel habits
Is there any discharge or bleeding

meanwhile you should avoid straining at stool by taking laxative
sitz bath twice daily
maintain good hygiene

Hope this addresses your question please feel free to ask for more clarification
wishing you good health
I find this answer helpful
