What Causes A Swollen Lymph Node On The Left Side Of The Neck?
I have a lymph node on my left side of the neck probably the cervical lymph node, that is swollen, soft and does not move the size of a nickle. I have had 2 cat scans with and without contract that indicate it is not cancer. I have had no colds of flu, I live in southern Florida. Is there a way to treat this condition? My DR wants me to have an ultra sound in 3 months. Thank you,
Regarding your concern, I would explain that this could be an inflamed lymph node, probably related to a chronic local infection.
Coming to this point, there are two ways to deal with it:
- Wait and follow up with an ultrasound in order to see its possible progression.
- A biopsy.
You should discuss with your doctor on the above options.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka,
