What Causes A Swollen Optic Nerve?
On Friday, an ophthalmologist (M.D.) said I have a swollen optic nerve. He prescribed a field vision test, which I had today, and an MRI, which I am having tomorrow. At the conclusion of the field vision test, he asked me how my appetite had been lately and whether my scalp hurt. I told him my appetite had waned; no noticeable scalp pain. What, in your opinion, was the doctor probing for, and what may he be thinking?

It could be due to conditions like optic neuritis.
Consult an ophthalmologist and get evaluated.
Steroid is the mainstay of treatment.
