What Causes A Tiny Lump In Armpit?

I have a tiny lump in my armpit. It suddenly appeared after I waxed my underarm. It was red and inflamed in the beginning, but later became a little dark. I had antibiotics as prescribed by the doctor but the swelling hasn t come down. It s been more than 2 to 3 weeks. I am 28 years old and have no family history of breast cancer. And also my total blood cell count has come normal. Kindly help.

Welcome to healthcaremagic.com. Sorry to hear about your armpit swelling. I would suggest that this happened as a result of the waxing that you did, you may have an ingrown hair follicle that has eversed and started to grow inwards, even though more common with razor blade use, this is not uncommon with waxing. The ingrown hair follicle may have to be "dug out" to stop the pain and swelling as I can imagine it is hard to walk around with a sore armpit. I hope this helps and best of luck and thank you for your question.
