What Causes A Vein To Protrude Out In Stomach?

Good morning,
A vein is protruding out in my stomach, it feels like it runs from my left rib almost to my belly button. I'm assmuning its a vein and when I suck my stomach in you can almost see it. This just happened all of a sudden as I have never felt this before. What could this possibly be?? Please help...I'm kind of scared!!!
