What Causes A White Light In Peripheral Vision Post A Head Injury?
My wife hit her head yesterday. (A heavy shelf fell a about a foot and hit her on the left front top of her head.) She has no bump or cut but it was a little sore. She also had no other after effects. However, tonight she is occasionally seeing a small white light in her peripheral vision in her left eye. Still no other symptoms. Should we be concerned?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
The moving white light in her peripheral vision seems to be a floater arising from a small degenerative body in aquas humer. This condition might have effected after the accident. Such floaters are usually not harmful still looking at the injury she had I would suggest a consultation after examination by an ophthalmologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
