What Causes A Yellow Discharge With Dryness In The Clitoris And Vaginal Itching?
Hi. I have had a yellow discharge for a month or 2. About a month ago my vagina began to become unbearably itchy. The itching has calmed down, however I now have a very dry clitoris. I do still have the yellow discharge but much less than before. I tried monistat1 about two weeks ago but nothing seemed to leave, just calm down a little. I am also on nuvaring birth control. Any insight as to what I might have? I can not book a doctors apointment for a few weeks and I just want an idea of what might be happening.
We generally treat it with five days course of metronidazole taken twice a day.
Important is that anyone with trichomoniasis should be a screen for other sexually transmitted disease and the partner should also be treated at the same time.
However, it should be first confirmed by examination and investigations.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

What Causes A Yellow Discharge With Dryness In The Clitoris And Vaginal Itching?
Hi, Vaginal discharge is quite common, and while most of the times they are normal but many times they indicted certain infection. A discharge that is clear or certain times yellow but no itching, pain or redness indicates normal discharge. However, as you said you had severe itching so that s unlikely to be normal. A yellow discharge with itching may indicate trichomoniasis which is a sexually transmitted disease. We generally treat it with five days course of metronidazole taken twice a day. Important is that anyone with trichomoniasis should be a screen for other sexually transmitted disease and the partner should also be treated at the same time.
