What Causes A Yellowish Scab With Discharge On The Scalp?

Hello I suffered from a traumatic brain injury in a car accident about two years ago and was recently in another car accident in May. Today I found a yellow scab on the top of my scalp which has been sore for some time now. It was leaking fluid and also kind of red and irritated! Please help!

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Probably there was some blood under the skin in the place that you were hit in the scalp.

Since there is fluid leakage, an infection should be considered.

Get evaluated by your Doctor because you may need microsurgical treatment of the under skin collection and antibiotics.

Hope this helps.

Greetings.
