Hello,
Abdominal and lower back pain can have many different causes. Here are some possible causes of these types of pain:
* Muscular strain: One of the most common causes of lower back pain is muscular strain or sprain, which can be caused by lifting heavy objects or sudden movements that cause the muscles in the back to stretch or tear.
* Digestive problems:
Abdominal pain can be caused by digestive problems such as
indigestion,
acid reflux, or inflammation of the stomach or intestines.
* Kidney stones: Kidney stones can cause pain in the lower back and abdomen. The pain could be severe, intermittent and recurrent.
*
Urinary tract infections: Infections of the urinary tract can cause pain in the lower back and abdomen, as well as pain or burning during urination.
* Gynecological problems: Women may experience abdominal or lower back pain due to gynecological problems such as
menstrual cramps, ovarian cysts, or
endometriosis.
* Herniated discs: Herniated or bulging discs in the spine can cause lower back pain and sometimes abdominal pain if the herniation affects nerves that control the abdominal muscles.
* Sciatica: Sciatica occurs when the
sciatic nerve, that is from the lower back down the legs, becomes compressed or irritated. This can cause lower back pain as well as pain, numbness, or tingling in the legs.
