What Causes Abdominal Bloating After Taking A Morning After Pill?
Hello. I took the morning after pill on Tuesday and by the weekend I felt bloated and the need to constantly go poo. But when I went poo there was more of a thick white discharge rather than poo. Any idea what that could mean ? This happened a few times. I was almost wondering if I was miscarriaging
What symptoms you are experiencing are side effects of the morning-after pill. Stomach upset, bloating and constipation are some of the side effects experienced by intake of such pill.
Improve your intake of fluids and eat semi-solid easily digestible food for a few days so that it would relieve such symptoms. You need to get withdrawal bleeding within 5 to 7 days of intake of a pill to prevent pregnancy. If you do not get bleeding by 10 days, you need to take a urine pregnancy test and consult Obstetrician promptly for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S,
