What Causes Abdominal Bloating After Tubal Ligation?

Surgery on 1/9/2018 laporscopic tubal ligation. I have cramping and swollen belly plus bruising just below my navel with protruding at the bruised area. Nurse said it s common to have some but I feel the protruding is not normal. Really concerned it might be a hernia. My first ever surgery and now really scared of surgery

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The bloating and bruising is common post surgery. It will go away on its own. You can take Tylenol for pain. The location of the swelling is not indicative of hernia. You do not need to worry.

Regards
Dr.Lekshmi
