A few years ago (2010) I had to call 911 (for the first time in my life) because I was bloated out so badly that the pain sent me to the hospital. The doctor gave me some antibiotics and sent me on my way 3 days later with notes that read There is mild prominence of the small bowel loops which are fluid filled and may be related to ileus. A moderate amount of stool within the colon is noted...pars defects at L5 are noted. Impressions: 1. Findings suggestive of ileus vs gastroenteritis type pattern. 2. Mild panniculitis noted. Unfortunately, the hard as a rock bloating never went away after that. Since then, I even lost 50 pounds just to make sure it wasn t simply belly fat. However, even after the 50 pounds was dropped, my bloated gutt didn t go down at all (measuring it with tape measure before and after the 50 pound drop). Currently, I continue to have the rock hard bloated feeling with continued bad diarrhea accompanied with loud stomach churning noises throughout the day. My doctor sent me to the GI doc who sent the scope up me and said he couldn t find ANYTHING AT ALL wrong with me. My doctor has given me Viberzi for the diarrhea but all that did was totally plug me up causing even more bloating and abdominal pain. That s all he has done...and, the severe bloating appears to be here to stay on my present course of action. What in the world could this be and, more importantly, how in the world can I get this problem to finally go away?
