What Causes Abdominal Bloating And Constipation?

I’ve been struggling daily with excessive gas, bloating, and constipation for almost two years. I’ve cut foods out thinking IBS but I’m still having these issues. And by excessive, I mean I can’t walk five feet without having gas seep out of me. I have no control over it. I cut eggs out and for two days I was fine but on the third, yesterday, symptoms came back. Now I’ve got a sharp pain just left of my belly button. Is this diverticulitis?

Hello,

Diverticulitis can cause abdominal pain but it is most common in the left side of the abdomen. Cutting out foods that cause excess gas is good, this would include a wide range of vegetables and some fruits.

You should also consider the use of reflux medication though you may not have other typical reflux symptoms. They can help with bloating example Pepcid, Zantac, Prevacid, Prilosec etcetera. These medicines can take a few days to kick in.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
