What Causes Abdominal Bloating And Pain Along With Gastritis?
Had been feeling sick for 5 months. Gas, bloating, burping, gastritis pain in upper right quadrant. Thought it was intestinal as I have gastritis, acid reflux. Had endoscopy and colonoscopy found polyop in intestine and Stomach They removed the one in intestine and was non cancerous. I gave up wheat and dairy in Sept to ease the gas and bloating which aided in me losing 35lbs from Sept till now. I requested a sono because I needed answers to the pain. Results sludge in my gallbladder and found the hemangioma. Going on Monday to see next steps. Can both things be causing this pain? Can you drink alcohol?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Your symptoms are nonspecific, but these may be suggestive of gastritis, GERD or hiatal hernia so you should do gastroscopy to evaluate it more accurately. This is caused by irritation of stomach mucosa by certain food or medications, stress and smoking. So firstly it should be treated with home remedies and changing dietary habits. You need to avoid fried food, carbonated drinks, coffee, alcohol and spicy food. You should eat more milk products, vegetables and boiled food. Also, certain anti-acid medications may be required such as Pantoprasole or Ranitidine. In cases of severe pain, diagnosis should be established with endoscopic tests which include gastroscopy or barium swallow test.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
